we hope you enjoyed the artwork from the Carnival of Curiosities set Andy did a phenomenal job We realize fully some of the releases were less than optimal based on timing errors and speed of the app We work tirelessly to make things better every day Scott continues to rebuild the framework while we optimize and keep the game running This process will last through early December it seems In the mean time Austin is making quick progress in getting a new and improved app put together We are very excited about what is to come on both fronts It s time to bid farewell to November with some hair raising releases We will release all six of the mustache cards THIS WEEKEND beginning now This means the helicarrier will be grounded for large portions of the weekend The mustache set will be sold only in the 5 stores Each mustache will cost 3000 HC You may have noticed the game has been spitting out HC likes it s candy and it sort of is for the last week or two Things that make you go hmmmm Why 3000 each Because WallaBee Munzee Inc will be donating 5 for every person who completes this set during the month of November to cancer research Our chosen recipient The Jimmy V Foundation uses 100 of the received donations directly for cancer research and projects to move research forward Learn more at www jimmyv org In conjunction with this mustache set I m putting HC and locks on sale again through the online store and in app There will be no push notifications due to the traffic it causes but the item directory forum will update at each release with a new item post Thank you for understanding the reason we need to

band aids and it s time to add some major stability On Wednesday October 21st 2015 starting at 6am CST GMT 5 WallaBee s technology setup will be moved from it s current home to the same home that houses all the Munzee technology This means for that day things will be a bit unstable I am working very hard to make sure there is minimal downtime the goal is none so that WallaBee can be better monitored and maintained All the things I have learned to scale Munzee to almost 60 million captures will certainly be applied to the WallaBee side I m glad we are taking this trip together and we are trying to be as transparent as possible Thanks Scott Foster VP of Technology WallaBee scott wallab ee Recent Posts Unique Tuesday Unique Friday 3 Unique Friday 2 Unique Friday 1 Behind the scenes Archive Apr 2016 Mar 2016 Feb 2016 Nov 2015 Oct 2015 Sep 2015 Aug 2015 Jul 2015 Jun 2015 May 2015 Apr 2015 Mar 2015 Feb 2015 Jan 2015 Dec 2014 Nov 2014 Oct 2014 Sep 2014 Jul 2014 Jun 2014 May 2014 Apr 2014 Mar 2014 Feb 2014 Jan 2014 Dec 2013

uniques Exciting new sets fun mixes and artwork Increased player driven designs I look forward to unveiling many new things in the coming months and hope you will join me in the adventure Once again thank you to Ben Simon and Alan for an amazing game and the opportunity to carry the torch forward to a bright tomorrow Rob Vardeman President WallaBee rob wallab ee WallaZee Posted on 25th September 2015 As you know we made a difficult decision a few weeks ago to shut down WallaBee which we were then able to reverse shortly afterwards I can now share that the reason we were able to get back up and running is because we have been acquired by our good friends at Munzee effective from the beginning of September 2015 In terms of how this affects everybody our priority when negotiating a deal was to ensure that WallaBee would continue as it is and that any transition would be seamless For the past few weeks the development team at Munzee have been hard at working inspecting our code and patching up bugs to improve things and this should have been noticeable with the latest item releases Similarly they have also been working with Andy on new set designs and the recently begun Straying Alive set has been created and managed entirely by the new team The app will continue to run as it always has done as a separate entity i e it isn t going to suddenly be merged with the existing Munzee app However Munzee have far greater resources than we had on our own and will be able to execute on a number of our plans we had made for the future I won t make any announcements today but the new CEO Rob will post a message tomorrow with some details of their plans for the future With regards to staffing WallaBee will be run by a new team from Munzee that I d like to introduce to you now Rob Vardeman President WallaBee username MrV Rob has played WallaBee since the early days and has a real passion for the game His experience leading the crew over at Munzee has prepared him to offer WallaBee players additional opportunities beyond gameplay with the items we all love He enjoys building communities and loves the interactive and cooperative environment that exists here He loves reading the forums and bringing ideas to life from creative players so get ready for a fun new adventure with all the elements you ve grown to love Scott Foster VP of Technology WallaBee username Coolant Scott runs the team that keeps Wallabee players foraging all over the world A self proclaimed Apple Fanboy Scott loves all kinds of technology and programming He makes sure the servers work all while having a loving wife 3 kids 1 cat and no gall bladder His goal is to get a Rob Vardeman 1 don t tell him but they don t exist Scott may

around our server application we also have issues with the app itself as we re reaching a point at which we can t update it anymore The WallaBee app was originally build when iOS 5 existed and many of the newer technologies that Apple are promoting such as AutoLayout weren t around at the time this means something like making the app work natively on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus is a massive undertaking The upcoming release of iOS 9 may have caused issues and whilst we ve been doing band aid style fixes over the last year or so the app just isn t scalable at present Surely it doesn t take that long to deal with support You d be surprised As we ve grown we ve added lots of new features such as commenting trading and forums I ve long joked that things were better before we did that but from a support point of view that is true every day I have to deal with everything from technical problems and bug fixes to requests for information or sorting out the latest number collecting spat As well as taking up a lot of time it is emotionally draining it s very hard to spend years working solidly on a project and investing a huge amount of money and energy to then have people descend into petty arguments over digital pixels This is one of the reasons that I ll be taking time completely away from the project for a few months Why not get investors This is a personal choice on my part This is my baby and I m not keen on being beholden to someone else either creatively or financially I already find it a large weight on my shoulders that there are thousands of people using this app adding some financial responsibility to people other than myself on top of that is not going to do anything for my stress levels How about crowd sourcing This is similar to the above in that we don t want the added responsibility of investors be it a single venture capital firm or thousands of individuals In addition this is something that needs constant investment to keep it running and whilst we may be able to successfully get enough to run for a month or so we wouldn t be able to generate enough to keep us afloat and also do all the work that needs to be done we d just be extending the inevitable Can t you make more money by selling unique items again Whilst we love unique items they aren t actually a profitable venture for us We lost money on most of the unique items that were sold and whilst we ve spent a lot of time over the past few months creating an app for the creation of future uniques along with guidelines and some automation to speed up the process and avoid problems it would only make this a break even aspect it would not come close to the amount we would need to keep going as we are On a related note there are plenty of ways we could generate money within the app We could fill it with adverts hearts and timers and use psychology and data analytics to increase purchases We could create premium markets that require real money for items We could limit items to 100 issues and allow people to buy and sell with real money on the market and take a cut We could do all of these things and more but we never will this is abhorrent to us and we d rather shutdown than become like other freemium games which are nothing more than casinos where the house always wins Will there be any more items Yes we still have the rest of the Beanstalk set to finish along with an August and September item from our Women of WallaBee calendar set However we re going old school and we ll be releasing these after the public API shutdown and with no push notifications Why It ll avoid having hundreds of people coming online at once making everything slow and it seems nice to us that we go back to the way the game was played originally as we come to the end What about the money I ve already spent on honeycombs and locks All of our purchases are for honeycombs locks or pouch upgrades and we don t guarantee that WallaBee will be around forever when selling those We are continuing to release items for the next month and if we relaunch at a later date then all of your honeycombs and locks will copy across most likely with added interest If you have made a purchase in the last 14 days August 12th onwards from the App Store you can request a refund directly from Apple by going to your previous purchases section of iTunes If you have made a purchase on our online store in the last 14 days August 12th onwards then you will automatically receive a refund this will take 5 10 days but you should get an email confirmation in the next 24 hours We are turning off the ability to purchase in app and online to avoid having players purchase something whilst unaware that we are shutting down What about my unique item We don t guarantee that WallaBee will be around forever when creating your unique item and the cost of the item is all in the design If you don t have a high resolution copy of your unique item already let us know and we ll supply you with the artwork which you can use for your own personal use If we relaunch at a later date then your unique items will still be available to you The unique gifting portal will remain active until we shut down on the 20th September so if you wish to gift any items

look at what is going wrong and I felt it best to use that time to try and find out what was wrong What about the items Whilst 90 of the WallaBee community were unable to connect some players were able to play with minimal lag which meant that 277 items were distributed in the first release of the Bandana item In the few minutes between going into maintenance mode and bringing the servers back up a decision had to be made do we destroy those items and start the release again from 1 or do we continue on from 278 A decision like this is always difficult as you will inevitibly upset either those that were unsuccessful in the first wave or those that were With very little time to decide I made the decision that we would convert the item into a Unique Item named Bad Bandana and restart the item release from 1 Whilst we haven t done this before it seemed the right thing to do in the heat of the moment What about the second release We took the app out of maintenance mode and let you use the app for a few minutes Everything seemed to be working ok with our newly built servers and so we released Bandana for the second time On this occassion 252 items were released before things went pear shaped I made the decision to maintenance mode everything and leave it for a while so we could put together a proper plan What happened to those items They have been converted into Bad Bandana starting at 278 The Bandana item will be released from 1 for a third time at some point Was there an issue with the artwork During the second wave release it was bought to our attention that one of the Bandana variants appeared to be of the Confederate Flag I would like to make it clear that the artwork for this set was done long before the tragic events in Charleston and was in no way designed with reference to that tragedy or the events that took place afterwards As soon as it was bought to our attention we promised to remove it and a redesigned variant will appear when the next release happens I d like to assure everybody that this was an honest mistake and not an intentional act on the part of any of the WallaBee staff What is going to happen next We are going to let our hosting partner do some cleanup work and then we will resume item releases at some point after 9am UTC on 16th July 2015 We ve added 30000hc to your accounts by way of apology Will those of us who missed out on Bad Bandana be able to get it We will make the Bad Bandana unique available to everybody You can currently get it from the mixing pool if you are very lucky but we will do a store or forage release at
