to build on what Already exists Both these spaces also have the added benefit of direct sunlight The expansion of these fledgling activities are severely curtailed by the existing vehicle layout Therefore the authors propose to take advantage of the new more efficient vehicle hierarchy to rearrange the vehicle routes to create a more generous urban plaza in front of the fire station and two further secondary plazas in front of Metro Plaza and to the west of the Viru Hotel A micro roundabout is created within the turning circles of the tram where the cars seamlessly choose their route Furthermore the proposal fully engages with the Main Street of Tallinn vision The reclamation of space from the vehicle allows the park to be extended through the intersection Building on the success of the existing park trees and plants would create a strong green connection and enhancing the delight of the user A variety of tree species are proposed adding to the visual interest Both the Narva and Parnu roads would become boulevards with influences of the ramblas in Barcelona or Highline in New York A central structure acts as a focal point further reinforcing the connection Constructed of native Estonian pine its organic form provides contrast to the rational architecture of its surroundings An urban farm could potentially be created within the structure as the electric cars will not threaten the existence of wildlife A subtle twofold approach is taken in the tectonic design of the new plazas within the new Viru intersection The main urban plaza by the fire station with it s immediate proximity to the old town has an irregular tactile treatment reflecting the grain of the old city walls A sunken auditorium encourages impromptu social interaction such as dancing or cinema By comparison the new

to the city and Old Town and to seperate from the Road Besides I designed a main axis from Viru street thus Old Town is more approachable than before I designed a new habitat new collecting places square and meeting point on the road Also it is like a hill city terasse I confirmed an other problem is that Tamsaare park is bordered by car ways and difficuld to reach it because most of people are in the other side of the road As a solution I combined both side with a ramp and designed a green axis This green axis is surranded by plants and people are gonna feel like they are walking inside the green My design can be defined by APPROACHABILITY COLLECTING POINT CITY TERRASSE and A PLACE INSIDE GREEN Töö ei ole professionaalne Töös pakutud liikluslahendus ei kasuta ära isejuhtivate autode pakutavaid eeliseid ning ei ole seetõttu parem praegusest lahendusest Problemaatiline liikluslahendus muudab ka avaliku ruumi lahendused ebavajalikuks kuna neid saanuks lihtsamalt teha mõne teise liikluslahendusega Lisa kommentaar Tühista vastus Sinu e postiaadressi ei avaldata Nõutavad väljad on tähistatud ga Nimi E post Kommenteeri Saad kasutada järgmisi HTML i märgendeid ja atribuute a href title abbr

smarthphones There was a research a year ago which interviewed people in their 20s and 30s The great majority said they would rather give up their car than their smartphone and in their list of cool brands no car manufactu rer appeared in the top 20 Our attitude to cars and transport gerenrally is changing So how about the near future It is only logical that with the evolution of smarphones car clubs and other car sharing systems keep getting more effective and number of their users keep growing Cars will be soon taken in as an accesory to your smarthphone as part of internet of things In a short period of time cars will be replaced by self driven cars perhaps fueled with hydrogen and travelling will get much more effective and flexible The shared car picks you up and drops you off wherever you wish It doesn t need a parking space because it keeps going to pick up the next customer That sounds great but how will it affect public space As I pointed out thanks to this system there is no need of parking lots in the city center That means the center is freed of rows of cars in both sides of each road There are just car stops sheltering people wai ting for their pick up Car sharing system reduces number of driving lanes and makes them more narrow because self driven cars are also self navigated Threfore accidents caused by human mistakes are out of the table Further more we can throw away all traffic signs and lights Self driven cars get all the informations they need as speed limit or traffic jams info via satelite or wifi Public space don t need to divide roads from pedestrians as strictly as now but there is only need to pro tect pedestrian from running into the car So what will happen on Viru square We can finally make a real square instead of a big asphalt roundabout The aim is to create space where you can both hang out with friends or have a business meeting or you just enjoy walking through I divide the main space into three squares with different atmospheres and attractions In a world where distance is no problem I always want to spend my time at an extraordinary and special place The first square is the Tower square with a big monument Torn made of scrapped old cars The tower is a guardian of this place reminder of past era of car transportation in an unexpected way It is an intimate square where you can have a cup of coffee play with children play a piano in the corner and sing some songs or you can just go to the top of a tower to see the view The second square is the Fountain square The fountain has the same dimensions as the tower but runs in an opposite vertical direction As the tower is heading up the fountain
