  • Estonian animation “House of Unconsciousness” wins Grand Prix at the Holland Animation Film Festival | Studyinestonia
    the Holland Animation Film Festival 30 03 2015 House of Unconsciousness an Estonian animation about the dreams of chimney sweepers has won a Grand Prize at the Holland Animation Film Festival HAFF The animation directed by Priit Tender is a psychedelic drama about a chimney sweeper and a burning woman The film is apparently based on a long term study of the dreams that chimney sweepers encounter most frequently The animation s music was scored by Rainer Jancis an Estonian composer and musician known also for writing songs for a band called Metro Luminal The Holland Animation Film Festival is an international festival for animated film founded in 1985 and since 2009 an annual event The festival is a national and international meeting place and source of inspiration for animation professionals and rising talent and it promotes animated film as an attractive cultural leisure pursuit to all possible target groups In Estonia it is possible to study animation in English at Estonian Acadmy of Arts Estonian Academy of Arts EAA is the only public university in Estonia offering higher education in fine arts design architecture media visual studies art culture cultural heritage and conservation The Estonian Academy of Arts is

    universities The sample of the survey was 1 035 international students in Estonia Compared to the previous years we can see how regardless of the improvement of the quality of higher education in Estonia the global average has gone up as well This applies mostly to satisfaction with the learning experience which in 2012 was 82 percent in Estonia average 85 and is now 84 percent average 87 The problems most commonly highlighted by the respondents are lack of career guidance and other relevant services including opportunities to find work in one s respective field of specialization said Raul Ranne head of the international education marketing department of Archimedes Foundation a body that is responsible for coordinating and implementing different international and national training education and research programs Eighty seven percent of the respondents were satisfied with the living conditions in Estonia citing safety quality of the university premises and reasonable living costs as main advantages Satisfaction with support and guidance services is of more concern Although students are generally satisfied with assistance services like the help provided with finding accommodation they are less satisfied with guidance and career services and the lack of tutors The key concerns are career
