    the elections which keeps on nerves the politicians and journalists The usual familiar landscape the classical cacique the corageous oppositor and the awared local radio speaker The election day arrives and Salvador goes to work at his sugar cane plantation as in any other day But a surprise awaits him a mountain of corpses lay in the middle of the field Suddenly the landscape changes It is an election day and nobody wants to talk about the massacre everybody will try to play his own cards Political intrigues corrupted cops busybody local journalist a confused farmer heavy atmosphere the drowsiness of the valley and a lot of surrealism compose this black humour anti comedy It could be another film about how drug gangs and their actions affect common people s lives But in a different explicit and at the same time symbolic way The second feature of Carlos Moreno that premiered at Sundance and it won for best cinematography and was in official competition in Rotterdam is a comedy which doesn t make you laugh but you will feel with a strange smile the metaphor of the crude reality of Colombia Carlos Moreno Musician Carlos Moreno holds an undergraduate degree in communications and a master s degree in audiovisual narrative He has wide experience as a creative leader editor and director of commercials and has won several international awards in this field He has also worked as a writer editor and director for short films and music videos His first feature Dog Eat Dog screened at PÖFF in 2008 ALL YOUR DEAD ONES is his second full length film Filmography Perro come perro Dog Eat Dog PÖFF 2008 Todos Tus Muertos All Your Dead Ones 2010 Tags Latin America politics humour Comments 0 EST ENG RUS kõik Connected films Land

    extended shot the horse pulls Ohlsdorfer s car along a country road Thereafter the film follows the two human characters daily routine in great precision and with deliberate repetition every day they wake the man dresses his daughter walks to fetch water from the well and eventually they sit down to a daily meager repast of boiled potatoes Barely a word is said This gruelingly monotonous routine is interrupted by two events First a neighbour Kormos arrives to buy some palinka liquor and delivers an extended rant about how the world is collapsing in an unstoppable circuit of degradation and acquisition Second a group of gypsies pass through leaving the daughter a religious book which she later reads Viewers may emerge variously bored puzzled mesmerised or thrilled by the audacity of a film that dares to take cinema back to a bare bones language reminiscent of the silent era Tarr has announced that this will be his last film and indeed it s hard to imagine where he could go from here It s a shame to think of this heroically uncompromising director shutting up shop but if he does THE TURIN HORSE is a magnificent farewell Jonathan Romney Béla Tarr b 1955 Pécs Hungary is one of the most original directors around today From works highlighting social issues he moved towards spiritual films whose style defined by long sweeping shots earned him worldwide acclaim Films such as Satan s Tango 1994 and Werckmeister Harmonies 2000 are regularly screened at the world s most prestigious festivals His tenth feature film THE TURIN HORSE won the Jury Grand Prix and the FIPRESCI Prize at this year s Berlin IFF Filmography Csaladi tüzfészek Family Nest 1979 Szabadgyalog The Outsider 1981 Panelkapcsolat The Prefab People 1982 Öszi almanach Almanac of Fall 1985 Karhozat
