    7 pm Estonia Concert Hall Sept 30 2005 19 00 Estonia Concert Hall Vivaldi Bagger Guitar Concerto in D major Mozart Flute Concerto in G major Rääts Concerto for flute guitar and orchestra Estonian premiere Bartók Concerto for Orchestra Jürgen Franz flute Germany Boris Björn Bagger guitar Germany Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Conductor LESLIE B DUNNER USA Since 2003 Leslie B Dunner is the music director of Joffrey Ballet one of the largest US dance companies He has conducted many US and European orchestras and is often praised for his stirring and electrifying performances Guitarist Boris Björn Bagger who is well known in Estonia and flutist Jürgen Franz who plays in Hamburg NDR Symphony Orchestra will perform with ERSO as soloists and also as a duo The premiere of Concerto for Flute Guitar and Orchestra by Jaan Rääts was performed by Jean Claude Gérard Boris Björn Bagger and Baden Baden Philharmonics in Germany in 2001 At the concert the Estonian Music Council prize will be awarded This concert celebrates 30 years from the moment when the Estonian Radio Symphony Orchestra became the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra The orchestra was then conducted by Neeme Järvi the principal conductor of the orchestra

    Magic Flute Overture Mozart Sinfonia concertante for Violin Viola and Orchestra in E flat major Mahler Symphony No 1 in D major Arvo Leibur violin Daniel Raiskin viola Russia The Netherlands Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Conductor JÜRI ALPERTEN The concert is dedicated to the music of two great composers Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and Gustav Mahler ERSO s principal violin Arvo Leibur is a long standing and well known Estonian soloist and chamber musician In October 2005 he won the Music Prize of the Estonian Music Council for input to shaping the sonority of the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra and outstanding activities as soloist His last solo performance with ERSO was a Violin Concerto by Rautavaara Leibur as a soloist does not dominate but somehow listens to an imaginable whole Leibur is convincive with his clarity his music is not fuzzy his phrases are finished and clear Evi Arujärv Sirp Estonian weekly culture newspaper Daniel Raiskin has performed with ERSO before as a viola player and a conductor It is rare to hear solo violas but Raiskin is often compared with Yuri Bashmet and as we heard in Estonia concert hall he is worth the comparison Toomas Velmet Teater Muusika Kino
