    Tallinn Estonia Concert Hall 16 January 19 00 Tallinn Estonia Concert Hall Brahms Piano Concerto No 2 in B Berlioz Symphonie fantastique Nikolai Demidenko piano UK Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Conductor Dmitri Slobodeniouk Russia Finland Nikolai Demidenko born in Russia but now a British citizen is a hightly sought after pianist in the whole world His position in the world of music is proved by his appearances during this season with such leading orchestras as the Philharmonia Orchestra the Hallé Orchestra the Prague Symphony Orchestra etc Although he has lived in Britain since 1990 he has regularly performed with musicians from his native country particularly with ERSO chief conductor Nikolai Alexeev s other home orchestra the St Petersburg Philharmonic Orchestra Earlier he has appeared with ERSO in 2003 when he played Rakhmaninov s Piano Concerto No 3 Demidenko s razor sharp articulacy and immaculate dexterity are complemented by the finest musical grace and individuality Gramophone The young conductor Dmitri Slobodeniouk is also of Russian descent but has studied in Finland and settled there He is a frequent visiting conductor with many Finnish orchestras He also appears with ERSO for the second time the first was in October at the opening
