    into the Wind for symphony orchestra Kellä Bells for strings from the cycle Elegies of Thule La Folia Nargen for oboe and strings River of Gratitude for two percussion harp celesta and strings premiere Passacaglia for symphony orchestra helios helios for two cellos and symphony orchestra Kalev Kuljus oboe Germany Pei Sian Ng cello Australia Pei Jee Ng cello Australia Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Conductor ANU TALI The concert presents an overview of Tõnu Kõrvits orchestra works of recent years including a new piece Tänumeele jõgi specially written for the Estonian Music Days helios helios was commissioned by Adelaide Symphony Orchestra with its principal conductor Arvo Volmer like at its premiere in 2008 the soloists will be twin brothers Pei Jee and Pei Sian Ng The music of Tõnu Kõrvits is both pastelly soft and romantic and impressionistic As such it is rare in the new music of Estonia and the world elsewhere Heili Vaus Tamm The orchestra is conducted by Anu Tali For a dozen years she has been the conductor of the Nordic Symphony orchestra and Kadri Tali its manager Anu Tali has conducted several prestigious orchestras in the whole world including Deutsches Symphonie Orchester Berlin NDR Sinfonieorchester

    Mihkel Peäske flute Meelis Vind clarinet Peeter Sarapuu bassoon Virgo Veldi alto saxophone Indrek Vau trumpet Marko Martin piano Estonian National Symphony Orchestra Conductor OLARI ELTS The premiere of Helena Tulve s extinction des choses vues by ERSO and Olari Elts took place at NYYD Festival in 2007 The piece is based on Michel de Certeau s text Extase blanche a discussion on vision and the extinction of what has been seen There is an awful lot to see or rather to hear in Tulve s work Tulve engulfs and governs the orchestra so that the sound is dense but not overloaded Olari Elts however precisely outlines the nuances with his angular gestures on the thankful material of ERSO Tui Hirv Thanks to its quality performance an extremely impressive piece Igor Garshnek Eino Tamberg s Concerto grosso with its neoclassicist features is one of the highlights of Estonian music of the post Stalinist era In 1957 the Concerto grosso won the first prize and golden medal at the composition competition of the World Festival of Youth and Students in Moscow two years later it was performed at the Prague Spring Festival On May 27 Eino Tamberg one of the most
